Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude to play sports while in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that time. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished in second place in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and then enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. One year later Felix earned the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting a junior world record by running 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest 200-meter world champion in the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed within the top three athletes at her particular events.
