Gugulethu Mbatha (better known by the name Gugu-Mbatha Raw) is an British actor and film actress known for her role in the film industry for her role in the BBC series "Doctor Who", the British Sci-Fi TV series. Gugu was famous for her character Tish Jones in the series by BBC. The character was sister to a main character who was named Martha Jones. Gugu's audiences loved her bright spontaneity. There was no way to stop her from her successful performance career! In addition, she has appeared in other British stage and television productions. She is critically acclaimed for her stellar performance in 'Belle' (2013), a British period drama and 'Beyond the Lights' (2014) which is a romantic drama. When she was 19 Handler relocated from the city of Los Angeles, California to take on a profession in acting. Handler was forced to become an actress in order to make ends meet. Handler aged 21 and decided to pursue stand-up comedy full time when she discovered her story telling skills. Beginning Of career Handler began her stand-up career in the Oxygen network all-female cast for a hidden camera/practical joke reality show on TV called Girls Behaving badly. It was in air from 2002 until 2005. The handler appeared in several shows, including Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice as well as My Wife and Kids. Handler was also a correspondent for The Tonight Show. The biggest break for Handler was in 2006 when she began hosting her show on E! called The Chelsea Handler Show. The show lasted for two seasons. Handler was a part of the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the next year throughout the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend, HBO and Comedy Central have all broadcast her stand-up shows. In 2010, she was confirmed for the role of host at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. With this, she became the first woman to host VMA's after Roseanne Barr.
