Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters, born Lazzara was born on February 28 1948. She is an American actress, singer and children's author. Over her six-decade career she has been on TV, in film and in musical theatre. She also gave solo concerts and recorded. She is a highly respected Broadway performer. She has received seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award), as well as nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Four of the Broadway album of cast on which she has starred have been awarded Grammy Awards.
Peters is widely considered to be the most famous interpreter of the works by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87) and The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
